Can't Eat Computer Fundraiser Results
The results of the Holiday fundraiser, You Can't Eat a Computer, are in. We reached about 50% of our goal. EDW worked with Feed by Grace to pick up and recycle electronic donations. FBG was then paid, based on the total weight of the donations minus fees associated with TV and CRT screen recycling. Although the fundraiser is officially over, EDW will continue to accept donations at their warehouse between 9am and 3pm daily on behalf of Feed by Grace. Whenever a milestone weight is achieved, EDW will issue FBG a check. EDW is located in Dallas at I35 and Walnut Creek.
NEW FBG WEBSITE
We are pleased to announce Feed By Grace is developing a new website that will be unveiled soon.

Texas Christian University (TCU) has sent FBG four seniors who are majoring in computers to assist in developing the site. There will be a new look, updated information and some new features. We are particularly excited about an interactive calendar for you, our volunteers, where you will be able to go in and sign up for a date to serve, online. Be on the lookout!

Feed By Grace Newsletter

Dear FBG Partner,

Each and every week, wonderful volunteers -
some established and some new - come to Unity Park and interact with our neighbors.
During Saturdays in November, our homeless friends have watched a puppet show, played sand volleyball, and visited with missionaries from New Mexico. Over 23 separate groups and churches distributed food and warm clothing and blankets. Youth from San Mateo Mission cleaned the raised garden beds. Folks danced to Christian music and studied the Bible. These are the images that fuel the warmth and satisfaction we receive by serving at Feed by Grace. Thanks to all of you!

 Christmas in Unity Park

Our annual Christmas in Unity Park celebration will be Saturday, December 10th from 8am until 3pm. Piping hot coffee and breakfast will be served as soon as the gates open. Our homeless neighbors will have opportunities to send cards to their families, make a gift for a friend, and listen to Christmas carols. Later in the morning, a Christmas message will be given and communion will be served. Finally, a full holiday meal with dessert will be served at noon and a gift bag distributed to each person. If you wish to help during this holiday celebration or contribute to the gift bags, please contact Kelley at 817-744-8211.
Looking Good!
Haircut and a Shave

Barber and beautician students from Fort Worth's School of Beauty came to Unity Park on two consecutive Saturdays and offered haircuts and shaves to the homeless. Upon receiving services, 111 men, women and children smiled upon seeing themselves in a mirror! The students were so moved by the reactions, they have agreed to return to Unity Park on an ongoing basis.
Plot Partners

Feed By Grace has scheduled a new garden project to begin in the Spring. A homeless individual will be matched as a plot partner with a volunteer; then each plot partner team will be assigned two raised garden beds to grow produce. When the vegetables are mature, the Plot Partner team will take the harvest

to a local low-income family as a gift. This allows the homeless person to be a productive member of the community, in the role of "giver." We hope to have master gardeners teach the plot partners how to raise the vegetables - so you do NOT have to know how to garden. Stay tuned for more information.

Feeling Good!
Medical Screenings
at Unity Park

Senior medical students from UNT Medical Center along with a supervising physician, gave health screenings to over 50 of our homeless neighbors on November 19th. They checked blood pressure, blood sugar, hearing, heart, lungs, and eyes. Many people were given referrals to JPS for the following week. In two instances, bus passes were given out for urgent care that same Saturday.

We value our volunteers. Noah's ark was built by a volunteer; the Titanic was built by professionals.

Sincerely,
Feed By Grace
