Unity Park

We are of the opinion that street feeding, distributing clothing and toiletries, job training and life skills instruction are not enough.  We must take other measures to raise the self-esteem of the homeless and help them realize that they can enjoy, and deserve to enjoy, the simple pleasures in life that "mainstream" society enjoys.

Unity Park is open every Saturday, serving cold drinks in the summer, hot chocolate in the winter, and coffee year-round, along with providing the homeless a place to eat the meals that are provided by the numerous ministries that come to the area to reach out to those in the neighborhood. Basketball, Bible studies, and arts and crafts are among the many activities that take place in the park. There are shade trees to relax under and picnic tables to sit around.  Most of all, it is a wonderful setting for volunteers to interact with the locals, create and nurture friendships, and pray for those who desire prayer. The office is open during the week for Success For Life and program participants, and our staff is there to help address the needs of those who are going through the programs while also tending to daily ministry activities.
