Success For Life
What makes Success For Life different from other programs?
We focus on individuals by limiting the number of participants. By placing the emphasis on a relationship with the Lord and making that the foundation, we are then able to build around that with life skills, job training, and mentoring.
What Is Success For Life?
Success For Life is a one year discipleship program that helps remove as many roadblocks as possible by empowering the homeless to build a successful future by:
Strengthening relationships with God
Developing self sufficiency
Learning life skills
Encouraging spiritual growth and commitment to discipleship
We help address physical, emotional and spiritual needs that may be blocking the road to success.
What is the Purpose?
Success For Life provides a unique job training and support strategy that:
Empowers people to be successful at work and at life
Encourages accountability and work ethic
Engages daily discipline for right decision making
Enacts personal responsibility
How can people get into the program?
Success For Life requires everyone to go through an interview and acceptance process. By agreeing to program rules and regulations and passing regular drug tests, they are then on their way to a fresh start.
Success For Life is a three phase program designed to give a hand up, not a hand out.
Phase 1 Six weeks.
Phase 1 is our opportunity to get to know our participants. We begin to work with them, while identifying and overcoming barriers such as lack of documents, id's, medications and a place to sleep. In this phase, participants begin restoring responsibility by learning to make and keep appointments, attending Bible studies, discussion groups, and weekly recovery classes. This phase establishes work ethic, punctuality, and a desire for change within the participant.
Phase 2 Sixteen weeks.
Phase 2 includes part-time employment with JC's Crew, Bible study, recovery classes, church attendance, being matched with a mentor, and attendance of the sixteen class Jobs For Life course. Drug tests are administered regularly to provide accountability.
Phase 3 Thirty weeks.
Participants in the final phase of Success For Life continue to work part-time for the ministry while they learn independent living skills, save for their future and search for full-time employment.
